IqraPress was founded by Dr. Thamina (Samina) Anwar with a vision to revive the timeless Islamic tradition of preserving, publishing, and sharing beneficial knowledge for the benefit of humanity.

Inspired by the first revelation of the Qur’an — “Iqra” (Read) — IqraPress was established on the belief that knowledge is a trust (amanah) and that access to authentic, beneficial knowledge has the power to transform individuals, communities, and societies.

Throughout Islamic history, scholars, educators, and institutions dedicated their lives to the preservation of knowledge through libraries, manuscript collections, schools, and charitable endowments (awqaf). These knowledge institutions became pillars of civilisation, ensuring that wisdom and learning were passed from one generation to the next.

IqraPress continues this noble tradition by combining the principles of Islamic publishing, digital innovation, and the waqf model to create a sustainable ecosystem for knowledge preservation and dissemination.
